Southern Record Systems is the only records management company located in Decatur, Alabama. From our record center, we are able to provide service to much of North Central Alabama. For many years, we have provided records management services to local healthcare providers, industries, legal offices, accountants, government office, and other businesses located in Decatur, and have grown our company to the Athens, Madison, Huntsville, Cullman, and Moulton areas, with other customers located in Alabama and other Southern states.

Southern Record Systems owner Doug Lambert comes from a long line of entrepreneurs in the shipping, storing, and transportation businesses. His grandfather started Lambert Transfer Company in Opelika, Alabama in the 1920s. His father opened Lambert Moving and Storage in Florence, Alabama in 1952, and in 1962, opened Lambert’s of Decatur, a precursor to Southern Record Systems. Doug Lambert originally worked for his father’s company before buying the Decatur branch of the company from him in 1971. By 1999, Lambert’s moving and storage company had found a new niche – records management.

Though the service lines and name may have changed over the years, Southern Record Systems is still focused on providing customer-focused services. We take pride in providing quick and easy access to records and offering added-value services such as purging and document shredding.
